She didn’t know what she’d feel. Neither did I, the first time.
I’ve been in the room when a woman sees herself in her images for the first time. I’ve watched someone who walked in saying she wasn’t sure she’d like any of them, go completely quiet. Not because she looked different than she expected. But because she looked exactly like herself.
The version of herself she’d been carrying around without knowing how to prove it existed. That is why I do this. Not the photographs — though I am proud of those. The moment before she speaks. The moment she realizes she was right about herself all along.
The Work
Fifteen years. One focus.
For fifteen years, I have been creating this experience for women in the Dallas / Fort Worth area. I have worked with brides, executives, new mothers, women celebrating milestones, and women who simply decided – after a very long time – to do something entirely for themselves.
I am a photographer. But the images are not the most important thing I make. I create the conditions for a woman to feel completely safe, completely seen, and completely herself for a few hours, in a private space, with everything taken care of.
Who This Is For
I work with one kind of woman. She is self-sufficient. She makes her own decisions. She has been thinking about doing something like this for a while and something finally made her ready. She trusts the people she chooses. And when she sees her images, she doesn’t say she looks beautiful. She says she had no idea she could feel this way about herself.
